I have now spent 5 months with this lens so I am pretty comfortable with it. This is the first lens (and I have gone through several, including Canon L lenses) that has exceeded my expectations. Yes, it is a manual focus lens so this is not a lens for everyone. I am using it on a Canon 50d and I have replaced the focus screen as well. I will say this, manual focusing is not that challenging.
